Shamator, 10th August, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The final of the 4th Metümnyo Festival Football Championship was held at Sangphur Village on August 8 under the theme “Inspiring Youth, Promoting Sportsmanship.” Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports (YRS), S. Keoshu Yimkhiung, attended the event as the Special Guest.

Addressing the gathering, Advisor Keoshu expressed gratitude to the Department of Youth Resources & Sports for sponsoring the championship and promoting grassroots talent. He said the department’s primary objective was to reach out to local communities and provide platforms for young people through sporting events.

He also appreciated the Shamator District Football Association (SDFA) and the Sangphur Village Students’ Union for successfully conducting the championship.

Urging the players to work hard and remain disciplined, the Advisor said that dedication, self-discipline and perseverance were essential to achieving one’s goals.

A total of 16 clubs participated in the championship, with the final played between Sangphur FC and Shamatorian FC.

The individual award winners were Kiutong Janger of Sangphur FC (Golden Glove), T. Dolun of Challenger FC (Golden Boot) and Lakiumong S. (Golden Ball).
