Flood-hit families in Tuli receive Red Cross relief

Mokokchung, 12^th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Mokokchung Branch, Wednesday distributed relief materials to families affected by the recent floods in Tuli under Mokokchung district.

The relief team, led by IRCS Mokokchung secretary Dr. S.S. Akaba Longchar and members of the managing committee, distributed 50 tarpaulins, 60 blankets, 40 hygiene kits and 20 kitchen sets to affected households.

The distribution programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tuli, Dobashis, church leaders and members of the Tuli Town Relief Committee.

According to official reports, the floods have affected around 286 households, many of whom are still struggling to recover from the disaster.

The relief assistance was facilitated through the initiative of advisor and MLA Tongpang Ozukum, who requested relief materials from the Indian Red Cross Society headquarters, Kohima, enabling timely assistance to reach the affected families.

IRCS Mokokchung Branch expressed gratitude to Tongpang Ozukum for his support and commitment towards humanitarian service.
