Mokokchung, 24th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, has informed the public about the Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme being implemented by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation to provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) patients suffering from life-threatening diseases.
According to the circular, the scheme covers treatment for major ailments including heart surgery, kidney surgery and dialysis, cancer treatment, brain surgery, organ transplantation, spinal surgery, and other life-threatening diseases. Assistance is available to families with an annual income below Rs. 5 lakh who are not covered under AB-PMJAY or CMHIS.
Eligible applicants have been asked to submit the prescribed application form along with self-certified copies of the required documents, including caste or tribe certificate, income certificate, Aadhaar or ration card, and a certified estimate of treatment costs from the hospital. Applications should be sent to the Director, Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, New Delhi, at least 15 days before the proposed treatment.
The financial assistance will be released directly to the concerned hospital, subject to the maximum ceiling prescribed for each category of illness.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that detailed information, application forms, eligibility criteria, and other guidelines are available on the official website of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. Eligible beneficiaries have been encouraged to apply under the scheme.
