Mokokchung, 24th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) will conduct its annual Dog Registration-cum-Vaccination Drive for the year 2026-27 on September 2 and 3 across all wards under the municipality. The drive will be carried out in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services and the AWUM.
According to an official circular issued by ADC & Chief Executive Officer MMC, Atsungba Walling, the registration renewal and vaccination exercise will commence from 8:00 a.m. on both days.
All wards have been requested to make the necessary arrangements for the drive and nominate two volunteers to assist the veterinary team. Ward chairmen will authenticate the renewal of registration cards by signing them.
The council has also directed wards that had submitted dog tags after last year’s registration to collect them from the MMC office, while wards that did not submit the tags may continue using the existing ones. Wards requiring replacement tags due to loss have been asked to submit a detailed list to the office on or before August 27, the same day registration cards will be issued during office hours.
The registration, renewal, vaccination and utilisation charges will remain unchanged.
According to the schedule, the drive on September 2 will cover Salangtem, Alempang, Alongmen, Sangtemla, Tongdentsuyong, Arkong, Penli, Dilong and Sungkomen wards. On September 3, the exercise will be conducted in Yimyu, Lijaba Lijen, Mongsenbai, Kumlong, Kichutip, Aongza, Marepkong, Majakong and Artang wards.
