(Nov 30, 2026 deadline for completing the Aadhaar linkage)
Mokokchung, 24th September 2026 (Nokinketer News): More than 1.14 lakh Ayushman Cards in Nagaland remain unlinked with Aadhaar, the Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS), Health and Family Welfare Department, has informed.
The NHPS has therefore directed all Ayushman Card holders to ensure that their Aadhaar is linked with their cards to avail benefits under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) at empanelled hospitals.
The Society stated that during the initial implementation of AB PM-JAY, from 2018 to September 2022, Ayushman Cards could be generated without Aadhaar linkage for beneficiaries covered under the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) databases.
However, following the implementation of beneficiary mapping through the National Health Authority (NHA) IT platform, Aadhaar linkage with Ayushman Cards has been made mandatory.
The NHPS said an analysis of beneficiary records in the Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) showed that over 1.14 lakh beneficiary cards in the State have not yet been linked with Aadhaar.
All beneficiaries whose Ayushman Cards were generated between 2018 and September 2022 have been advised to verify their Aadhaar linkage status. Those whose cards remain unlinked have been asked to complete the process through the Card Generation (BIS) portal.
The linkage can be completed through the offices of the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Common Service Centres (CSCs), Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), card vendor agencies or any empanelled PM-JAY hospital.
The NHPS has fixed November 30, 2026 as the deadline for completing the Aadhaar linkage. It cautioned that failure to complete the process within the stipulated period may lead to the disabling of the Ayushman Card. In such cases, the beneficiary may subsequently be required to undergo fresh e-KYC through the BIS portal.
The NHPS has also made available a list of beneficiaries whose Aadhaar remains unlinked with their Ayushman Cards for verification.
