Kohima, 17th October, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, has announced a special drive to include new and left-out electors in the state’s electoral rolls, reaffirming the commitment of the CEO’s office and the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure that no eligible voter is left out.
The special drive is being conducted across all Assembly Constituencies in Nagaland to ensure the inclusion of every eligible voter in the electoral roll.
To achieve this objective, 17 District Election Officers (DEOs), 44 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 64 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 63 Additional Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and 2,399 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), supported by 259 BLO Supervisors, are working across the state.
The CEO stated that the proactive campaign would continue to ensure comprehensive voter enrolment. Eligible voters have been urged to verify their names in the draft electoral roll and submit claims or objections on or before October 20, 2026.
For grievances related to the electoral roll or assistance in filing Form-6 for new voter enrolment, citizens can contact the 1950 helpline or visit the helpdesks established at the offices of the District Election Officers at the district level and Electoral Registration Officers at the Assembly Constituency level during office hours.
The CEO also clarified the purposes of the different forms used for electoral roll-related applications. Form-6 is for the inclusion of new voters, and eligible new or left-out electors can apply for enrolment throughout the year.
Form-7 is used to raise objections to the proposed inclusion of a name or seek the deletion of a name from the existing electoral roll. Form-8 is used for shifting of residence, correction of entries in the electoral roll, replacement of the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and marking of persons with disabilities (PwD).
The CEO has urged all eligible citizens to check their names in the draft electoral roll and take the necessary steps within the stipulated deadline to ensure their inclusion and accuracy of electoral records.
