Tuesday, JULY 7 (Nokinketer News): Deputy Commissioner Chümoukedima, Polan John NCS, has issued a public advisory urging commuters travelling along the NH-29 stretch between Chathe Bridge (Unity Gate) and Tsiedukhru Khuokhi Bridge, Kukidolong, to exercise extreme caution in view of the monsoon season and the increased risk of rockfalls and landslides.
The advisory asked motorists to drive carefully, particularly during heavy rainfall and at night, when visibility and road conditions could deteriorate.
Commuters have also been advised to follow traffic diversions and strictly adhere to instructions issued by authorities at the site. The deputy commissioner informed that the left-hand side (LHS) carriageway of the four-lane highway may be temporarily closed to traffic without prior notice whenever considered necessary for public safety.
Further, the public has been urged not to circulate fake or unverified information regarding road conditions or incidents, as doing so could create unnecessary panic. Instead, commuters have been advised to rely only on official updates issued by the competent authorities.
The deputy commissioner sought the cooperation of all road users in ensuring public safety during the monsoon season.
