Monday, 27th July (Nokinketer News): Deputy Commissioner Longleng has issued a travel advisory for passengers and commuters travelling from Longleng to Kohima and Dimapur in view of the ongoing road blockage and restoration work along the main route.

According to the advisory, commuters have been asked to use the designated alternate route—Longleng–Tuensang–Chare–Mokokchung—until further notice while road clearance and restoration work continues on the primary highway.

The DC has also imposed luggage restrictions due to the difficult terrain along the alternate route. Passengers have been requested to carry baggage not exceeding 5 kg per person and avoid overweight luggage to ensure vehicle stability and safe travel.

In view of the longer distance and additional travel time, the district administration has approved a temporary revision in commercial taxi fares. The revised fares are Rs. 1,600 for Longleng–Dimapur, Rs. 1,500 for Longleng–Kohima and Rs. 600 for Longleng–Tuensang.

The advisory stated that normal routes and the standard fare structure would be restored immediately after the main highway is cleared and declared safe for vehicular traffic.

The DC has appealed to all passenger vehicle operators and commuters to cooperate with the local authorities and traffic personnel to ensure smooth and safe transit.
