Longleng, 14th September 2026 (Nokinketer News): Vehicular movement along a stretch of the Changtongya-Longleng Road (NH-702) has been completely disrupted following a major landslide between Chainage 5+785 and 6+050.
Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, NCS, issued a circular advising commuters to use the alternate Tangha-Kangching-Merangkong Road until further orders.
The alternate route is currently motorable only for light vehicles, and heavy vehicles have been advised against using it.
The authorities are undertaking restoration and clearance works on priority to restore normal connectivity at the earliest.
Commuters have been advised to exercise caution and comply with directions issued by authorities and personnel deployed along the affected and alternate routes. The advisory will remain in force until further orders.
