Mangkolemba, 21st September 2026 (Nokinketer News): The 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency Congress Committee (ACCC) has sought transparency and accountability regarding the Multi-Purpose Hall at Mangkolemba, reportedly sanctioned under the Khelo India Scheme.
In a statement, the ACCC said the project could serve as an important facility for sports, youth activities, community programmes and cultural events, and therefore the public has the right to know details of its sanction, implementation, construction and utilisation.
The committee urged the concerned authorities to make all relevant records and details available for public scrutiny and conduct an impartial inquiry into any alleged irregularities.
It also pointed out that Mangkolemba serves as the headquarters of the Jangpetkong, Japukong and Tsurangkong ranges, making infrastructure developed there significant to the wider population beyond the locality.
The ACCC said public-funded projects must be implemented with transparency and accountability, adding that questions raised by citizens and civil society should be addressed openly.
The committee expressed support for Mangkolemba civil society organisations and the public in their efforts to seek transparency and accountability over the project.
