Mokokchung, 21st September 2026 (Nokinketer News): The C/173 Battalion CRPF, DEF Camp, Mokokchung, distributed water storage tanks to schools, a church, youth club and needy residents of Chuchuyimpang and Khensa as part of its Civic Action Programme 2026-27 on Sunday.
The programme was held at the company headquarters at DEF Camp, Chuchuyimpang, with beneficiaries including Government Middle School and Government Primary School, Chuchuyimpang; DEF Police Church; Government Primary School, Amenyong, Khensa; the youth club and needy residents living near the CRPF camp.
Speaking at the programme, SDO (C), Mokokchung, Temsuchuba Jamir, appreciated the CRPF’s role in maintaining internal security and said such people-oriented initiatives help strengthen relations between security forces and local communities.
Assistant Commandant and Company Commander of C/173 Bn CRPF, P. Nilakanta Singh, said the Civic Action Programme was undertaken annually to provide essential support to needy communities and educational institutions. He said such initiatives contribute to day-to-day welfare while strengthening mutual trust between security personnel and the local population.
Guest of Honour Subash Arambam, Assistant Director of Printing & Stationery, Mokokchung; T. Imlisunep Ao, Principal, Government ITI Mokokchung; and SI/GD Himanshu also spoke on the occasion. The programme began with an invocation prayer by Pastor Temjen Jamir.
