Friday, June 5, 2026 (Nokinketer News): In a significant step towards building a drug-free society, the District Administration of Mokokchung has approved the District Action Plan for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) Campaign 2026. The district-level initiative aligns with the nationwide mission of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to combat substance abuse and promote a healthier society at the grassroots level.

To address the issue effectively, the action plan adopts a comprehensive four-pronged strategy comprising:

# Supply Curbing Strategy to disrupt and curb illicit drug trafficking networks.

# Demand Reduction Measures to assess, prevent, and reduce substance dependency.

# Outreach and Awareness Programmes to educate and sensitise vulnerable groups and the wider community.

# Monitoring and Documentation Mechanisms to ensure accountability, assess outcomes, and track progress.

Under the plan, district officials and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have been entrusted with specific time-bound responsibilities. Through coordinated efforts, stakeholders will work towards dismantling substance abuse networks, strengthening prevention measures, and fostering a safer, healthier, and drug-free environment across Mokokchung district.
