Mokokchung, 11th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): Mokokchung Police seized two AK rifles, three .32 pistols and a live round during routine checking at Tzsusapang sector under Mokokchung village in the early hours of July 30.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, police intercepted a Honda Amaze bearing registration number AS-07CB-6839 at around 1:40 a.m. The vehicle was reportedly travelling from Shamator via Chari Junction towards Dimapur.

During the search, police recovered two AK rifles along with three magazines, three country-made .32 pistols with three magazines, and one live .32 round.

One person, identified as Khumkiumong Yimkhiung, 42, son of Yimso, resident of Khumishe, Aghunato, Zunheboto district, and presently residing at Naga United, Chümoukedima, was apprehended in connection with the seizure.

Further investigation led to the arrest of another accused, identified as Kone Mary, wife of Danii Lah, a resident of Saranmai, Senapati district, Manipur, from Kohima on August 3.

A criminal case has been registered at Police Station-I, Mokokchung, and further investigation is underway.
