Monday, 15th June 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) and Ao Senden, during a special joint meeting held at the CKS office in Tuensang on June 15, strongly condemned the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl in Dimapur and expressed solidarity with the victim.
In a joint declaration, the two apex tribal bodies condemned the alleged involvement of O. Watimeren Jamir, Akangkokba, both from Unger Village, and Tsuktimongba of Süngratsü village in the incident. They expressed hope that speedy justice would be delivered and that the accused, if found guilty, would receive exemplary punishment.
The meeting also cautioned against attempts by any individual or group to exploit the incident to promote tribalism or communal disharmony through defamatory, hateful, or malicious statements. The two organizations stated that such actions would be viewed seriously and dealt with accordingly, as they could create unnecessary tensions, hurt public sentiments, and threaten the longstanding harmonious relationship between the Chang and Ao communities.
Reaffirming their commitment to unity, the Chang Khulei Setshang and Ao Senden resolved to continue nurturing and strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the two communities, regardless of challenges that may arise in the future. The declaration was jointly signed by CKS Vice President N. Sipong and Ao Senden President Marsanen Imsong.
